My Story
My genealogy journey began in 2019 when I took an AncestryDNA test and started building my family tree. I quickly became hooked, and what began as a hobby soon grew into a full-fledged passion.
After attending my first in-person genealogy conference in 2024, I was inspired to make an impact beyond my own family history research. I created Jernealogy as an educational resource to help others explore genealogy, DNA, and the stories hidden within their family history.

DNA and History Belong Together
DNA is most powerful when combined with traditional family history research. I love weaving genetics, records, maps, and historical context together to uncover the deeper stories behind our ancestors.
Learning Should Feel Accessible
Family history research can feel overwhelming at first. I believe complex topics like Y-DNA and genetic genealogy should be explained clearly, visually, and in a way that welcomes beginners without oversimplifying the science.
Stories Deserve Preservation
Every family loses stories over time. I’m passionate about documenting, preserving, and sharing the lives of the people who came before us so their histories are not forgotten.
